Guns N’ Roses bassist, Duff McKagan, recently shared some exciting news about his upcoming solo projects.

He revealed:

“So I’ve got a couple of songs coming out in a couple of weeks.
“I also have one other record that’s completely arranged song-wise. We’ve got that record ready to go, but I’m not sure when I’ll release it. There’s more Guns stuff coming soon, and I don’t want to put out a record while Guns is busy. I try to stagger everything, so I can’t say when that next record will drop. I could put out three records at once, but that might be too overwhelming.”

A new GNR Album is in the Works

Guns N’ Roses last released a four-song EP titled Hard Skool in February 2022. This exclusive collection was available only in their official store and included two new tracks from 2021—the title song and “Absurd”—along with live versions of “Don’t Cry” and “You’re Crazy.”

The bassist also mentioned that the band is hard at work on a new album. When asked why Axl Rose or his collaborator Myles Kennedy didn’t feature on his recent solo album, Orgy of the Damned, he explained:

“Guns N’ Roses are trying to make their own record. I’m involved with them in that capacity, but this solo album was my own side project, so I didn’t want to drag my guys into it.”

McKagan Reveals Recorded Tracks for Studio Album

Interestingly, there are some tracks recorded during the pandemic waiting to be released.

“We actually polished up a handful of those songs while we were in lockdown. They’re really good, so I’m excited to share them. We’ll likely put out one or two songs at a time until we get through them all. I’m not exactly sure how many we recorded in total.”

If all goes according to plan, the next Guns N’ Roses studio album will be the first under their name since Chinese Democracy and the first to feature the classic lineup of Slash, Axl Rose, and bassist Duff McKagan since 1993. Fans have plenty to look forward to as the legendary band continues to create new music while the bassist works on his solo music!
