The Best Part Of Duane Allman Is All Grown Up

One look at her high cheekbones, nose, and sweet smile and there’s no doubting the fact that you’re looking at Duane Allman’s beloved little girl, Galadrielle. Just two when her dad died at the age of 24 in a motorcycle crash, Galadrielle has spent most of her life piecing together her legacy as the child of one of rock’s most celebrated guitar players from stories and letters compiled by people who knew Duane best – her Uncle Gregg, late grandmother Mama A and her own mother Donna, who divorced Duane in 1971 and moved to California with Galadrielle in tow.

Duane’s looks aren’t all Galadrielle carries of her famous father, either; in 2014 she released her book Please Be With Me: A Love Song For My Father, Duane Allman, revealing her own deeply sensitive, creative side that she no doubt inherited from Duane as she recalled life with and without her father, describing the struggles that come with trying to put together the puzzle of her legacy without the biggest – and most important – piece of all.

Check out the interview below, Galadrielle does a fantastic job of shedding light on Duane’s original vision for the Allman Brothers Band and even lets us in on one of her favorite moments with her dad that may or may not have actually happened. If you look closely, you’ll even see and hear shades of Duane in this remarkable woman, too!
