Discover Janis Joplin’s 1965 Demos

If there’s one counterculture icon that stood out during the 1960s, it’s Janis Joplin. With her rebellious spirit and a deep love for music, Joplin pioneered blues rock during that era. Tragedy hit as the singer’s life was cut short on October 4, 1970. Joplin died of a heroin overdose at the age of 27. She was alone inside Room 105 at the Hollywood Landmark Hotel, in Los Angeles, California. Her sudden death stunned the music world and shocked fans and fellow musicians.

Despite her untimely demise, Joplin’s musical influence continues. Her music is still remembered by audiences worldwide, celebrated for its raw emotion and uncompromising honesty.
