Dave Grohl’s comment from when he first met Jordyn Blum has resurfaced following his recent admission of fathering a child outside his marriage. The Foo Fighters frontman once jokingly referred to Blum as his “future ex-wife,” and that quip is now making the rounds again in light of his confession about cheating.

Grohl Confesses to Having a Child Outside His Marriage

At 55, Grohl revealed on Instagram that he had a child with someone other than his wife, Jordyn Blum, who is 48. In his post, he shared:

“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”

How Grohl and Blum First Met

Amidst the current news, Grohl’s comment about meeting Blum has come back into the spotlight. In a past interview with Q Magazine, Grohl reminisced about their first encounter, saying it happened “one night in 2001.” He recalled:

“Taylor [Hawkins, fellow Foo Fighter] and I were hanging out at the Sunset Marquis whiskey bar. Taylor was the looker. I mean, girls would send him drinks. Some bombshell comes up and starts talking to Taylor. I was just out of a Tenacious D session. I’ve got Vans trainers on, no socks, dirty shorts and a dirty T-shirt, surrounded by beautiful Hollywood. She waved her friend Jordyn over. I was like, ‘Oh my God. Not a chance!'”

Grohl continued with humor, saying:

“So I’m just having some drinks and acting like a jacka**. And by the end of the night, I was pissed and I’m staring at her going, ‘You’re my future ex-wife.’ So she gave me her number: ‘Jordyn, your future ex-wife’.”

After seeing each other a few times, Grohl initially backed out, feeling he “wasn’t ready for a serious relationship,” as he told ELLE in 2007. However, he had a change of heart after three months and decided to call her back.

Future of Their Relationship

While it’s uncertain what lies ahead for Grohl and Blum’s marriage, the news has impacted their family, with their daughters Violet and Harper reportedly deactivating their social media accounts following the revelation, as reported by US Weekly.
