Corey Feldman recently shared the inside story behind his viral guitar solo on the X5 Podcast, where he revealed how he managed to troll the world with a performance that left people questioning its authenticity.

Currently opening for Limp Bizkit on their Loserville tour, Feldman found himself at the center of attention when a clip of his guitar solo during his song “The Joke” went viral. The video sparked widespread debate, with some viewers accusing him of not actually playing the guitar. The controversy gained so much traction that Fred Durst, Limp Bizkit’s frontman, even brought a chair onstage during Feldman’s performance on August 9 to witness the solo firsthand.

Spoiler alert — Feldman was indeed playing the guitar. Feldman declared during the podcast:

“I am now officially the King of Trolls.
“I got the whole world, not just questioning whether it was a good guitar solo or not a good guitar solo, but I got them questioning whether I was even playing it.”

He went on to explain that the solo was intentionally bad, in line with the song’s title, “The Joke.” He said:

“Obviously, it is one of the world’s worst guitar solos — intentionally.
“It’s like, come on people, it’s pretty obvious. The song’s called ‘The Joke’… Obviously the whole world is captivated.”

The conversation then took a more serious turn when Feldman was asked about the most misunderstood aspect of his career. He clarified that, aside from “The Joke,” the rest of his music is not a joke. Feldman, who has released four solo albums and two albums with his group Corey Feldman’s Truth Movement, expressed frustration with how the media has portrayed him.

“Here’s the thing… The media and the powers that be have worked overtime and spent a lot of money to misconstrue my image, to diminish my worth, to devalue me as an entertainer,” Feldman explained. He noted that despite the constant criticism, he has continued to persevere, though he often faces new attacks. He added:

“Somebody’s always trying to sabotage me and always trying to make us look bad.”
