This Father Performs Heartbreaking “Blackbird” Tribute To Son

The Most Important Performance Of His Entire Life…

This is one of my favorite covers of <strong'Blackbird' by The Beatles. There are no frills, no theatrics; just a father spending a quiet moment with his son, pouring all of his love into their time left together. You see, Chris Picco had just lost his wife in childbirth as she brought their son Lennon into the world three months early. As Lennon lay fighting for his life, Chris did the only thing he knew how to do: he sang to his son.

A Tender Moment Caught On Camera

Chris explained, “Ashley would often feel Lennon moving to music so I brought my guitar and gave him a little concert.”

Sadly, little Lennon went to sleep for the last time in his father’s arms the next day.

Much like Chris, none of us knows how much time any of us really have left. The little moments really are the big moments; the moments that when we look back on our lives, we will remember just as vividly as if they only happened yesterday. For Chris Picco, this is that moment and we thank him endlessly for sharing it with the world.
