Actor Caught Filming Iconic Live Aid Performance

A week after he made his big debut in full costume, Bohemian Rhapsody star Rami Malek is back in costume as Freddie Mercury – but this time, he’s onstage and ready to rock and roll, if the video below is anything to go by!

The 36-year-old actor was caught on set today filming the scene that highlights Queen’s groundbreaking Live Aid performance, jogging his way onstage and giving us the first glimpse into how he plans to portray the entertainer side of Mercury; sporting a prosthesis that gives him Mercury’s signature overbite, his trademark mustache and an outfit identical to the one Mercury wore during the 1985 performance, Malek saunters his way over to the piano and launches into “Bohemian Rhapsody” that from what we can tell, captures all of the little idiosyncrasies that came out to play when Freddie was at his piano.

Fun Fact: Malek, 36, recently won an Emmy for ‘Best Actor’ for his lead role in USA’s hit cyber series Mr. Robot.

Cooler still is the fact that Brian May is never far off, watching the action from the best seat in the house: behind the piano, keeping a weather eye on the young men tasked with the impossible feat of portraying both he and the men he built a legacy with. If this brief video is any indication of what’s to come when Bohemian Rhapsody finally hits the silver screen, then count us in – we can’t wait to see what the final, finished product looks like!
