Carlos Santana Postpones Las Vegas Residency After Fall

Santana has had to postpone its upcoming Las Vegas residency after Carlos Santana, the band’s legendary leader, suffered an unfortunate fall at his vacation home in Kauai, Hawaii. The residency was set to begin on January 22 and run through February 2 at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. Thankfully, the concerts scheduled for May are still on track.

“I am sorry to say that Carlos was out taking a walk at his vacation home in Kauai, and he took a hard fall, and he broke his little finger on his left hand,” Santana’s management explained in a statement. “He had to have pins inserted in the finger. Unfortunately, he won’t be able to play guitar for approximately six weeks. Doctors do say that he will recuperate fully.”

Health Comes First

Despite the setback, Santana’s team assured fans that Carlos is doing well and is eager to return to the stage once he heals. “Santana profoundly regrets these postponements of his upcoming performances, but accidents happen, and his health is our number one concern. He is looking forward to seeing all of his fans very soon,” the statement continued.

This isn’t the first time Santana has had to postpone shows due to health concerns. In 2022, Santana had to cancel performances after collapsing on stage during a Michigan concert, which was later attributed to heat exhaustion and dehydration.

Upcoming 2025 Tour Dates

While the Las Vegas dates are delayed, Santana’s 2025 concert tour is still on the horizon. The North American leg kicks off on April 16 in California, followed by stops in cities like Phoenix, San Antonio, and Tulsa. After wrapping up in Nashville on April 29, the band will head to Europe, with shows in Poland, Berlin, London, and Vienna, among others. The tour concludes on August 11 in Copenhagen.
