Brian May Is NOT Pleased With Donald Trump using Queen’s Song! “Donald Trump is…”
Donald Trump Is NOT The Champion!
July 18th marks the first day of the 2016 Republican Convention. In the start of this highly anticipated event, Donald Trump made his entrance to speak to the attendees. Now, it’s become tradition that each nominee, whether republican or democrat, makes their entrance to hit song usually from back in the day. And it usually makes the rounds in the media.
So all this being said, the usage of these songs in generally pretty harmless. At least Donald Trump thought that would be the case when using one of the band Queen’s hit songs We Are The Champions. Apparently that’s just not the case. Lead guitarist Brian May took to Queen’s social media platforms to speak on behalf of the band Queen and said this.
An unauthorized use at the Republican Convention against our wishes – Queen

What do you make of this potentially messy situation? In the grand scheme of things, it is fairly harmless for Donald Trump to use the song as an entrance at a political convention, but on the flip-side, We Are The Champions is the intellectual property of Queen and they own the rights to that song and how its used. Knowing Donald Trump, we can expect him to respond to these comments rather soon, and very candidly too.
