Brazilian musician Ayres Sasaki, 35, tragically died from electrocution during a live performance on July 13 at the Solar Hotel in Salinópolis, Pará, Brazil. Sasaki was performing when he allegedly hugged a wet fan, which led to a fatal electric shock. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, prompting an investigation by the Salinópolis Police and the Pará Civil Police.

While most reports indicate that Sasaki died after hugging the fan, some suggest he was playing his guitar at the time of the electrocution. Witnesses have provided statements, and authorities are awaiting expert reports to determine the exact cause of the incident.

The Solar Hotel released a statement expressing their commitment to supporting Sasaki’s family and cooperating fully with the investigation. The hotel stated on Instagram:

“We are fully dedicated to providing support to his family and taking the necessary measures. We reaffirm our commitment to fully cooperating with the competent authorities for the proper clarification of the events.
“Our thoughts and condolences are with Ayres Sasaki’s family and friends at this difficult time.”

Sasaki’s aunt, Rita Matos, emphasized the family’s efforts to understand the tragic event. “We are contacting people who were with him at the moment to understand how everything happened. We will gather all the information in a statement that we will release to the press,” she told Istoé Gente.

Sasaki, who was also an urban planner, had been married for 11 months. His wife, Mariana, expressed her gratitude for the support they have received. She wrote on Instagram:

“I would like to thank you for every message of affection and comfort, for every prayer during this difficult time that we are going through.”

Friends and colleagues of Sasaki paid tribute to him on social media. Filmmaker Raphael Macedo described Sasaki as “a wonderful person and loved by all,” adding, “The divine plans no one explains but I am sure you would like to be remembered by your voice, joy, and friendship.” The band RockON also honored him, calling him “an extraordinary person of friendliness and character, an exceptional music professional.”
