Bon Jovi’s New Album “Forever” Is Flopping Hard On The Charts

Bon Jovi’s latest album, Forever, unfortunately, didn’t live up to its name on the charts. After debuting impressively at No. 5, the album fell out of the Billboard 200 album sales chart the very next week. If it doesn’t make a comeback, Forever will mark the first time a Bon Jovi studio album has only spent a single week in the Top 200.

This swift decline follows a similar pattern seen with their previous album, 2020, which was delayed due to the pandemic. 2020 debuted at No. 19 but dropped 126 spots the following week, ultimately disappearing from the chart. The quick exits of these albums suggest a challenging period for the band, especially in light of Jon Bon Jovi’s vocal health issues.

With their touring future uncertain, Bon Jovi employed a robust media campaign to promote Forever. A key component of this was the documentary series Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story, which chronicled Jon Bon Jovi’s struggle with loose vocal cords. The series revealed his difficulties during the band’s most recent tour, the subsequent diagnosis, his surgery, and the rigorous recovery program he underwent. Despite these efforts to draw attention to the new album, it failed to maintain a lasting presence on the charts.

In a recent interview with The Guardian, Jon Bon Jovi addressed his ongoing vocal challenges. “It’s a work in progress,” he explained. “There’s no miracle. I just wish there was a fucking light switch. I’m more than capable of singing again. The bar is now: can I do two and half hours a night, four nights a week? The answer is no.” This honest admission highlights the significant hurdles the band faces in planning future tours.

Despite these setbacks, Bon Jovi remains committed to their music and fans. On June 7, the band played a surprise five-song set to celebrate the opening of Jon’s new Nashville bar and restaurant, JBJs. They performed Forever’s debut single “Legendary” along with fan favorites such as “You Give Love a Bad Name” and “Born to Be My Baby.”
