Bon Jovi Rocks New York City
‘Runaway’ by Bon Jovi is one of those guilty pleasure songs that you’ll never admit that you like but somehow find yourself singing at karaoke night. Personally, I love it! ‘Runaway’ is everything I love about early Bon Jovi: harmonies, a strong piano intro, and a few guitar solos thrown in to mingle with Jon Bon Jovi’s falsetto.
The boys are seen here live in New York, and their energy is infectious! Richie Sambora is a great sidekick to Jon Bon Jovi, both vocally and on guitar and Jon is as electric as ever!
No wonder they’re so much fun to watch after all these years.
‘Runaway’ is one of two songs from the early days of Bon Jovi that is still played live at every show.
Even though Jon Bon Jovi can’t really hit the same falsetto notes heard in the original album rendition of ‘Runaway’, he still more than makes up for it:
These days, Jon plays a short guitar solo at the end of ‘Runaway’ in place of his signature high notes.
They’ve still got it!
