Bob Dylan Feat. George Harrison Session Box Set For Release

Rare Sessions

Bob Dylan is currently prepping a box set featuring a George Harrison session in 1970. Bob Dylan — 1970 (50th Anniversary Collection) is slated for digital release on February 26, 2021 via Columbia Records/Legacy Recordings. It was quietly released early this month through the UK store Badlands and unsurprisingly, it sold out in mere seconds and it was limited to one copy per customer.

For the 50th Anniversary Collection copyright extension series, it was Dylan’s way of extending his copyright ownership.

The recordings cover March to August 1970 but the standout material comes from the rare collaboration with Quiet Beatle George Harrison on May 1, 1970. They performed a total of nine tracks which have been bootlegged for years – a mix of covers and Dylan originals. The collection also includes previously unreleased outtakes from the sessions that produced the albums Self Portrait and New Morning.
