Fans who missed the historic Back To The Beginning concert will get another chance to experience it—this time in cinemas. A concert film titled Back To The Beginning: Ozzy’s Final Bow is set for theatrical release in 2026, with a home video version arriving later that year.

The 100-minute film, produced by Mercury Studios, captures the epic all-day event that doubled as both Ozzy Osbourne’s farewell to live performance and the final time the original Black Sabbath lineup—Ozzy, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward—performed together on stage.

A Star-Studded Celebration of Metal

Held at Birmingham’s Villa Park, Back To The Beginning wasn’t just about Sabbath. The lineup featured a powerhouse roster of rock and metal royalty, including Metallica, Slayer, Guns N’ Roses, Anthrax, and Gojira. Actor Jason Momoa served as host, and Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello was the event’s musical director.

“This was more than a concert—it was a tribute to a legacy,” Morello said, estimating that the charity-driven event will raise over $190 million for Birmingham-based causes.

On July 18, UK artist Yungblud released his emotional cover of Sabbath’s 1972 ballad Changes, which he performed at the event. The music video drops at 5 p.m. UK time today, giving fans a first look at the upcoming film.

Ozzy’s Final Bow, But the Music Lives On

Ozzy retired from touring in 2023 due to health issues, including Parkinson’s and multiple surgeries. Still, he and fans felt something was missing. “The band’s original farewell in 2017 felt incomplete,” Ozzy said on his podcast, “because Ward hadn’t been there since 2012.”

Back To The Beginning brought that story full circle—the first time all four founding members stood on stage together since 2005. While it may be the last Sabbath show, the band isn’t done making music. Ozzy, Iommi, Ward, and Butler are all working on solo projects, continuing to shape the sound of heavy metal.
