Tom Morello, guitarist of Rage Against The Machine and musical director for Black Sabbath’s Back To The Beginning event, revealed that he expects the concert to raise more than $190 million for children’s charities and hospitals.

On social media, Morello shared a series of behind-the-scenes images from the show, including a smiling photo of Ozzy Osbourne with the message:

“More than 190 million will be donated to houses and hospitals for children.”

Morello expressed gratitude to Osbourne for the opportunity, saying:

“Thank you, Ozzy Osbourne, for trusting me to be the musical director of the Back To The Beginning show. It was over a year of hard work, but heavy metal was the music that made me love music, and it was a labour of love. We raised a ton of money for a great cause, and so many great musicians and bands fans all over the world paid tribute to the all-time greats.”

Livestream Draws Millions, Adds Millions More

According to The Guardian, over five million viewers tuned in to the global pay-per-view livestream of the concert, bringing in an estimated $150 million. That revenue was pledged entirely to charity when the stream was announced earlier in June.

When a fan asked on Facebook whether the livestream funds would also be donated, Osbourne’s team confirmed:

“100% of the proceeds from the livestream also go to Acorns Children’s Hospice, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Cure Parkinson’s as well.”

Artists Performed for Free; Final Totals Pending

All performers at the event donated their time and talent, accepting no payment for their appearances. While the gross figures are substantial, the final amount to be donated will be confirmed after covering event-related expenses.

Despite that, Back To The Beginning stands as one of the most impactful charity concerts in recent memory—combining the legacy of metal legends with global fan support to create real-world change.
