The custom “Head of Doom” amps, played at Black Sabbath’s farewell show in July 2025, are now being sold exclusively through Ashdown’s shop on Reverb. Each amp head is hand-signed by Butler and includes a certificate of authenticity, signed by Ashdown’s managing director, Dan Gooday.
Fans can preview the amps beginning at 10:00 a.m. U.S. Central Time on October 7, with sales officially launching at the same time on October 14.
The Final Show: “Back to the Beginning”
Held in their hometown of Birmingham, Black Sabbath’s final concert, titled Back to the Beginning, drew more than 40,000 fans to Villa Park and was streamed by over five million viewers worldwide. It marked the band’s last performance together and featured the full original lineup.
Ozzy Osbourne opened the event with a solo set before being joined by Geezer Butler, Tony Iommi, and Bill Ward for a powerful finale featuring four Sabbath classics: “War Pigs,” “Iron Man,” “N.I.B.,” and “Paranoid.”
The all-day event also showcased a lineup curated by guitarist Tom Morello and was hosted by actor Jason Momoa.
Limited Gear for Collectors and Musicians
The 15 amp heads used by Butler onstage are not only playable pieces of equipment but also collectible artifacts from the show. In addition to the signed amps, Ashdown is launching made-to-order speaker cabinets designed to replicate Butler’s powerful live tone.
The handcrafted 2×12” and 2×15” cabinets—named COD-212-8 and COD-215-8—match the specs of the gear used during the final performance. Featuring 300 watts RMS at 8 ohms and a custom metal grille printed with Geezer’s own artwork, the cabinets aim to capture his distinctive sound at a more accessible price point.
