5 Minutes To Curtain Call With The Wilson Sisters
Some rockstars prefer absolute quiet right before a major show – others, a chaotic scene that allows them to forget their nerves and soak up the excitement just before that final “5 minutes to curtain!” call comes. For 70’s rock powerhouse Heart, however, the scene backstage looks like a typical evening growing up in the Wilson household with sisters Ann and Nancy.
In this extremely rare footage, the girls take us behind the scenes of Heart’s 1977 Little Queen Tour just days before it wrapped in September 1978. Despite the chaos of band members and tour managers running through setlists around them before the show starts, Ann and Nancy are calm and actually look much like what we imagine they did as teenagers – singing their favorite songs, quizzing bandmates on music trivia, and even putting on their makeup together at side-by-side mirrors in their dressing room!
Fun Fact: To date, Heart has sold over 35 million records worldwide, including over 22.5 million in album sales in the U.S. alone.
Don’t let the easy, breezy, relaxed feeling shared by rock’s leading ladies fool you though: never ones to be all flash and no substance, both Nancy and her sister give deeply introspective insight into what goes on behind the curtain before running off into the night for an explosive rendition of “Crazy On You”, and it’s something Heart fans everywhere definitely do not want to miss.
