Alex Terrible Of Slaughter To Prevail Wins Russian Debut Knuckle Boxing Match

Alex Terrible, the fierce frontman of deathcore band Slaughter to Prevail, stepped into the bare-knuckle boxing ring for the first time—and crushed it! Over the weekend, Alex took on Mukhamedkhan Ospanov during Russia’s RCC Hard tournament in Yekaterinburg, and let’s just say, the fight didn’t last long.

A Quick but Brutal Victory

In a middleweight match on January 25th, Alex made quick work of Ospanov, who had a record of one win and three losses. The fight was over in under a minute! Afterward, Alex admitted he had “fun, for sure,” but was “disappointed” he couldn’t go the full three rounds. Turns out, he didn’t love the experience of getting hit. “Getting punched in the face with bare knuckles is no fun at all,” he said with a laugh. So, he went on the offensive—and clearly, it worked.

Footage from the fight shows Alex delivering a relentless beatdown, proving he’s as intense in the ring as he is on stage.

From Training to Triumph

Although this was his RCC Hard debut, Alex spent 2024 prepping in the U.S. with the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC). His training included sparring with UFC heavyweight Alexander Volkov, which left him with a nasty hematoma.

But why fight in Russia instead of BKFC? Paperwork. Alex explained on Instagram:

“I wanted to fight in [BKFC] in December, but they told me I need to have [a] fighter license.
“So I decided to go to Russia and have a fight in [RCC Hard] coz in Russia nobody ask you for license.”

Now officially licensed for BKFC, Alex is ready for more.

“I respect all my opponents… For me, it’s just a sport. I understand that a lot of guys will knock me out… but I’m ready. I like this shit. I want it. I want to fight more this year. But music is my number one priority, so we will see.”

What’s Next for Alex and Slaughter to Prevail

Alex’s focus is still on music, with Slaughter to Prevail gearing up for Australian and South American shows in February and March. Fans can also catch them stateside this summer at Rock Fest in Wisconsin and Inkcarceration in Ohio.

For now, Alex is living proof that whether in the ring or on stage, he’s ready to bring the heat.
