Alex Lifeson Once Pulled This Hilarious, But Very Awkward Prank On Gene Simmons!

Who knew Rush were pranksters?

When two bands go on tour together, you know the members are going to have a good time with each other. We’ve heard the stories of the parties, the rock shows, the traveling and of course the arguments. But for the most part, stories from tours are pretty hilarious and fun!

When Rush and KISS toured together back in the 70’s, both bands had an amazing time, but Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson went a little too far in one of his pranks on a member of KISS! This clip is from Rush’s upcoming documentary Rush: Time Stand Still.

Lifeson recalled a prank he used to play on tour called “The Bag.” Alex would draw a face on a laundry bag, cut holes for his eyes, put sweatpants on and stick his hands through them, use a funny voice and walk around taunting people with this bag over his head! KISS guitarist Ace Frehely got a kick out of the act, but bassist/lead singer Gene Simmons HATED the bag and got really annoyed by it. Alex explains a time that Gene got so annoyed, that he stormed out of his hotel room! Pretty crazy!
