A New Release After Years of Waiting

Aerosmith and recent GRAMMY® nominee Yungblud have officially released their collaborative EP One More Time. The project includes three brand new tracks in addition to the previously released “My Only Angel,” along with a remixed version of Aerosmith’s classic “Back in the Saddle.” Fans can now stream the full collection online.

Back on September 19, listeners heard a new Aerosmith song on wireless earbuds for the first time ever. It marked the band’s return after 13 years without new material, following their 2012 release. “My Only Angel” arrived as the lead single from the new EP, offering the first preview of the unexpected partnership with Yungblud.

While only Steven Tyler and Joe Perry have appeared in promotional content, a spokesperson confirmed that all Aerosmith members were involved. Guitarist Brad Whitford, bassist Tom Hamilton, and drummer Joey Kramer contributed to the project. Since Kramer remains retired from performing, longtime friend Matt Sorum, known for his work with Velvet Revolver and Guns N’ Roses, handled the drums on the EP.

Tyler described the collaboration as a spark of creative energy. “The decision to meet Yungblud and make this music with him was like plugging into pure electricity,” he said. He also spoke about their connection in the studio, adding, “When we sang and played together for the first time there was an immediate unspoken vibration throughout the studio… it reminded me of the wheels of the car vibrating my seat as the boys and I drove into Boston 50 years ago for the very first time.”

Joe Perry and Steven Tyler Reflects on the Collaboration

Tyler explained how working with Yungblud brought back the excitement he felt during the early days of Aerosmith. “It had that same deep intimate pressure of necessity. To make it…make it great…something fresh and new…and make it last forever. That’s the rock n roll way baby!” he said. He praised Yungblud’s drive, calling the experience meaningful for both sides.

He continued, “We got on so well… the vibe in the room was epic from the start…we had a blast…and were truly honored to write with him! Rock and roll becomes timeless when you pour your heart and soul into it…that’s when the magic happens.”

Guitarist Joe Perry also recalled how the collaboration began. “A year ago, I got a call that Yungblud wanted to come to Sarasota to work with me and write some songs. I had heard his single and said, hell yeah, this guy’s got the juice,” he said. Their early studio work led Perry to call Tyler and urge him to listen.

Perry said the final product came together naturally once Tyler joined. “Fast forward to May and we’re in the studio with Steven recording new music. The end result turned out to be an amazing collaboration between Aerosmith and Yungblud. Let the music do the talking.”

Yungblud Reacts to Working With His Heroes

For Yungblud, the project was an experience he had imagined long before it finally happened. “Aerosmith have been such a staple of rock and roll and showmanship for me, so I’ve been ready for this my whole life,” he said. He described the sessions as effortless, adding that the songs “just poured out of us.”

He shared how surreal it felt to see his name alongside the band’s on vinyl. “Steven and Joe are at the top of their game and working with them is a huge fucking honor,” he said. “I’m making records with my hero’s, the shows insane every night and rock ‘n’ roll is waking the fuck up whether you like it or not. I’m loving every second.”

GRAMMY® Nominations and Touring Plans

This year’s GRAMMY® nominations highlighted Yungblud’s growing impact. He leads rock and metal nominees, joining Linkin Park and Turnstile at the top of the list. Amyl and The Sniffers and Sleep Token both earned their first nominations, the latter in multiple categories. Other notable nominations include Deftones, Dream Theater, Wet Leg, Spiritbox, and Ghost.

Even after canceling his remaining 2025 shows due to a health issue, Yungblud plans a major return in 2026. His upcoming 24-date sold-out tour includes stops in major cities across North America. Dates include New York, Toronto, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and more.

At the MTV Video Music Awards, Tyler and Perry joined forces with Yungblud and Nuno Bettencourt to honor Ozzy Osbourne. The performance took place at UBS Arena in Long Island, the same venue where Aerosmith played their final show before canceling the remainder of their Peace Out Tour.

The group performed “Crazy Train” and “Changes,” with Yungblud revisiting a song he previously performed during Ozzy’s final show. They were joined by Adam Wakeman, longtime keyboardist for Black Sabbath and Ozzy. After the performance, Aerosmith and Yungblud posted a video of Tyler and Yungblud hugging, with Tyler teasing, “We got a secret!”

The EP Finally Revealed

That “secret” turned out to be the release of their five-song EP. Along with “My Only Angel,” the tracklist includes three new songs and a reimagined version of “Back in the Saddle.” The EP arrives through Capitol Records on November 21. Various vinyl and CD editions will also be made available, each with its own artwork and color variant.

This release marks Aerosmith’s first new music in 13 years. Their last album, Music from Another Dimension! came out in 2012, reaching No. 5 on the Billboard 200. Yungblud’s latest album IDOLS arrived in June, featuring the singles “Hello Heaven, Hello,” “Lovesick Lullaby,” and “Zombie,” which charted on Billboard and the UK Singles Chart.

Steven Tyler also appeared earlier this summer during the Back to the Beginning event. In 2023, Aerosmith announced their Peace Out Tour, a large farewell run across North America. Although it opened strong, Tyler sustained a fractured larynx only three shows into the tour.

Rescheduled dates were announced for 2024, but Tyler’s recovery continued longer than expected. In August 2024, Aerosmith officially canceled the entire run and retired from touring altogether.
