First New Music in 13 Years
After thirteen years without new material, Aerosmith return with the release of “My Only Angel,” a collaboration with YUNGBLUD. The single arrives ahead of their joint five-track EP One More Time, set for November 21 through Capitol Records. This marks the band’s first fresh studio work since their 2012 album Music from Another Dimension! which featured hits like “Legendary Child” and “Luv XXX.”
Fans can stream the new single now. The upcoming EP will include three additional original songs and a newly recorded version of Aerosmith’s classic “Back in the Saddle.” While only Steven Tyler and Joe Perry appear in promotional images, an Aerosmith spokesperson confirmed that Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton, and Joey Kramer all contributed to the project. Several vinyl and CD editions will be available for pre-order.

MTV Video Music Awards Performance
The collaboration follows an energetic tribute at the MTV Video Music Awards last Sunday. Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, guitarist Nuno Bettencourt, and YUNGBLUD performed at UBS Arena in Long Island, New York, the same venue where Aerosmith last played before canceling their Peace Out World Tour. The group opened with Ozzy Osbourne’s signature track “Crazy Train,” then moved into “Changes,” a song YUNGBLUD previously sang in July during Black Sabbath and Ozzy’s final show. Black Sabbath and Ozzy keyboardist Adam Wakeman joined the set for the special performance.
After the show, Aerosmith and YUNGBLUD shared a short clip of Steven Tyler and YUNGBLUD embracing, with Tyler teasing, “We got a secret!” That secret turned out to be the release of their new single and the forthcoming EP.
From Farewell Tour to Studio Work
Steven Tyler’s return to the stage is notable after health challenges. In May 2023, Aerosmith announced their Peace Out Tour, a planned 40-date farewell across North America. However, only three shows were completed before Tyler suffered a fractured larynx during the band’s September 9, 2023 performance at UBS Arena. The tour was postponed and later rescheduled for 2024, but on August 2, 2024, Aerosmith confirmed a full cancellation as Tyler’s recovery took longer than expected.
Despite retiring from the road, the band remained active. Tyler performed at Back to the Beginning earlier this summer, and YUNGBLUD released his own album IDOLS in June, featuring tracks such as “Hello Heaven, Hello,” “Lovesick Lullaby,” and “Zombie,” which charted on both the UK Singles Chart and Billboard’s Hot Rock & Alternative list.
With One More Time now on the horizon, “My Only Angel” signals a creative new chapter for both Aerosmith and YUNGBLUD, bringing their generations of rock together for fans worldwide.
