The night turned electric as Tyler stepped onto the stage to perform two Aerosmith staples: “Walk This Way” and their famed cover of “The Train Kept A-Rollin’.”

Alongside Perry and Tyler were fellow Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford, touring keyboardist and backing vocalist Buck Johnson, Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes handling lead vocals, Robert DeLeo of Stone Temple Pilots on bass, and drummer Jason Sutter. Together, they delivered a high-energy set that thrilled the packed Los Angeles crowd.

Reflections on Aerosmith’s Future

While the Hollywood Bowl appearance excited longtime fans, the question of Aerosmith’s future still lingers. In a recent conversation with WBUR’s Jim Sullivan, Perry spoke candidly about the band’s next steps after announcing their retirement from touring in August 2024. That decision came nearly a year after Tyler suffered a fractured larynx during a show in September 2023, forcing the group to cancel their Peace Out Tour.

Perry explained, “I would bet that there’s an Aerosmith show left. There’s been talk about doing a documentary; that might be part of it. I’ve been spending a lot of time with Steven and he just doesn’t want to tour and he can’t tour. It’s tough. I’m not sure I would want to go out and book another 40-city tour. It’s a long way to the top and staying there takes it out of you, especially an Aerosmith tour.”
