Tour Plans Cut Short
After their short-lived 2023 farewell tour, Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has no plans to tour with the band again, guitarist Joe Perry revealed. The Peace Out farewell tour began in September 2023 but was halted after just three shows when Tyler suffered a serious larynx injury. Once it became clear the damage was irreversible, Aerosmith officially canceled the tour and announced their retirement from touring in August 2024.
Rumors of a possible return surfaced after Tyler gave a strong performance at Ozzy Osbourneโs Back to the Beginning farewell show last month. While fans speculated about a full comeback, Perry said a tour is unlikely โ though not impossible.

Life After the Stage
“Thereโs been talk about doing a documentary, that might be part of it. Iโve been spending a lot of time with Steven and he just doesnโt want to tour and he canโt tour,” Perry explained. “Itโs tough, Iโm not sure I would want to go out and book another 40-city tour. Itโs a long way to the top and staying there takes it out of you, especially an Aerosmith tour.”
Perry admitted that age and lifestyle choices play a big role in the bandโs future. “Iโll never say never, but I wouldnโt bet on it โ no pun intended. You really have to want to be out there and weโre all at that point of: How do you want to live? How do you want to spend the next however long youโve got?”
One Last Show?
While a large-scale tour appears off the table, Perry left the door open for a final performance. “I would bet that thereโs an Aerosmith show left. I think he would. I think itโs just a matter of getting there, you know? I mean, weโre up there, man. And itโs a lot.”
For now, fans may have to settle for the possibility of one last farewell moment rather than a return to the road.
