Although Aerosmith stepped away from touring last year after Steven Tyler suffered a vocal cord injury, the band recently brought fans back to one of their standout performances. On Instagram, they reminded followers that 31 years ago they took the stage at Woodstock ’94 as part of their Get a Grip tour.
The caption read, “During this week in 1994, Aerosmith made a stop on their Get a Grip Tour to take the stage at Woodstock ‘94. Aerosmith performed 24 songs, and this was the band’s first and only time performing at a Woodstock Festival.” The video shared includes moments from the set, beginning with Tyler in a top hat and kimono performing “Eat the Rich.” Clips also feature “Love in an Elevator,” “Draw the Line,” “Rag Doll,” “Dude Looks Like a Lady,” and 1970s favorites “Sweet Emotion,” “Walk This Way,” and “Dream On.”
The post drew a wide range of reactions from fans, some expressing regret that they missed the show and others praising the performance. One fan wrote, “Don’t mess with my gypsy heart like that, Woodstock, my dream was to have gone to that festival, it’s a shame that at that time there were people who could have tied me to a leash!!!!”
Others highlighted the energy of the show. “Aero’s best live performance ever!” one fan declared. Another recalled, “I have such a clear memory of this performance as a little kid, and rage against the machine! I also remember everyone PELTING primus with mud.” A different fan shared, “😍😍😍😍 I absolutely love their whole performance at Woodstock, it’s unforgettable ❤️🔥 But Draw The Line + F.I.N.E is undoubtedly my favorite piece of the show!!!”
