Aerosmith and Yungblud have unveiled an acoustic “Desert Road Version” of their new single “My Only Angel,” featuring a surprise banjo performance from actor and comedian Steve Martin. The stripped-down rendition highlights a more intimate arrangement, blending Yungblud’s raw energy with Aerosmith’s signature rock sensibilities.
Martin shared his excitement about the collaboration on Facebook Thursday, writing, “I’m playing banjo on a Steven Tyler song! Here’s our text exchange for no particular reason,” along with a glimpse at the conversation between the artists. The track is accompanied by an official music video, available now across streaming platforms.
New EP “One More Time” Coming in November
The original version of “My Only Angel” debuted in September as the lead single from the upcoming collaborative EP One More Time, set for release on November 21. The five-track project will feature four new songs — “My Only Angel,” “Problems,” “Wild Woman,” and “A Thousand Days” — alongside a fresh remix of Aerosmith’s 1976 classic “Back in the Saddle.” Fans can preorder the EP ahead of its official release.
Aerosmith Returns to Recording After a Decade
One More Time marks Aerosmith’s first new music in over ten years since their 2012 album Music From Another Dimension! It is also the band’s first major project following the cancellation of their Peace Out farewell tour, which ended prematurely after Steven Tyler sustained a vocal injury.
Tyler has performed selectively since then, including a mini-set at Ozzy Osbourne’s Back to the Beginning farewell concert, where Yungblud also appeared. The duo, alongside guitarist Joe Perry, reunited on stage at the MTV VMAs to honor Ozzy, performing a heartfelt cover of his classic “Mama, I’m Coming Home.” The collaboration with Yungblud and Martin signals a renewed creative chapter for Aerosmith, blending rock heritage with contemporary influences.
