The rock world continues to grapple with the loss of Ace Frehley, the original lead guitarist and founding member of KISS, whose life came to a tragic end in October 2025. In a heartfelt interview on Waste Some Time with Jason Green, Jeremy Asbrock offered fans a closer look at the events leading up to Frehley’s passing, sharing details that had previously gone unreported.

“There was a second fall, and some stories leave that out, and some stories mention that, but yeah, there was a second fall and that was the fatal fall,” Asbrock revealed, describing the moment that ultimately changed everything. His words shed light on the confusion and uncertainty that surrounded Frehley’s final days, leaving fans and friends alike in anxious suspense.

A Silence Filled With Concern

Asbrock recounted the weeks following the first fall, when information was scarce and rumors began to swirl online. “Man, he was dead on the internet before he was actually dead. It was freaking me out a little bit. We knew that there was a fall, and we knew that it was bad, but you know, they went dark up there for the next couple of weeks. We didn’t know anything. We didn’t know how he was progressing. We didn’t know what was happening. In a way, that kept us from leaking any information because nobody legit knew anything.”

Despite the uncertainty, the outpouring of love for Frehley was immediate and profound. “Look, I knew when somebody from KISS finally passed, it’d be a big deal. But man, the bigness of Ace, I just couldn’t believe it. It was fantastic. He was getting a lot of the respect he always deserved because, you know, past couple years, all I read are people beating up on him on the internet, and like the respect part finally came out, and I mean come on, he deserved it,” Asbrock said.

The Final Curtain

Official records now paint a clear picture of the tragedy. Frehley died on October 16, 2025, from blunt trauma to the head sustained in a fall at his home studio. The autopsy revealed a skull fracture, a subdural hematoma, and a stroke, with his death ruled an accident by the Morris County, New Jersey, Medical Examiner.

Frehley had experienced a minor fall in late September, with doctors advising rest and the postponement of performances. Tragically, a second fall led to the catastrophic injuries that would end his life at age 74. The autopsy detailed extensive trauma, including multiple fractures and bruising, compounded by the stroke. Following a period on life support, his family made the painful decision to remove him from the ventilator.

Frehley’s passing prompted an emotional wave of mourning across the rock community. Fellow KISS members, family, and fans around the world honored him through private and public memorials. His influence on rock music, his iconic guitar riffs, and his unforgettable stage presence ensured that his legacy would endure. Ace Frehley wasn’t just a member of KISS—he was a rock icon whose spirit will resonate with fans forever.
