When Badfinger First Played “Come And Get It” In 1970, It Would Take The Band To New Heights!
Legends Are Born!
If you ask me, there really isn’t a more tragic story of a band’s fate than that of Badfinger’s. Here, you have a band that truly had it all, the look, the charisma, the charm, the stage presence, and above all else, the music, but had their destiny taken away from them early on. Badfinger were set to become possibly one of the biggest bands in all of rock and roll, yet put their trust in a manager that would take all of their earnings only to ensure that they would never see a dime.
After all of this, Pete Ham, of the band would take his own life leaving the band in a dark situation. The band tried to continue on, only until Tom Evans of Badfinger would also take his own life. And then it was after the death of drummer Mike Gibbins that fans recognized that Badfinger was a band with probably the most tragic story in all of rock music. On a brighter side though, we do still have their music to remember them by. Like this smash hit of their’s, here.
What you’re about to watch is a video in which the aforementioned Badfinger take to the stage to perform their iconic smash hit Come And Get It. To put it simply, it was this song that was slated to take the band to ultimate levels of success, but we all know how the story goes…
