Irish rockers Thin Lizzy knew they had a hit when they recorded ‘The Boys Are Back In Town’ and literally no one was surprised when this classic rock staple became bigger than even the band imagined! It’s the quintessential song for tearing around town with your best friends on a Saturday night, and maybe getting into a little trouble!
‘The Boys Are Back In Town’ was inspired by Thin Lizzy’s fans. The group wrote it after noticing that their shows were full of working-class guys looking to get out and have some fun.
Used to the fame in their native Ireland, this iconic weekend warrior anthem gave Thin Lizzy the much needed worldwide exposure. While this was their only Top 40 hit in the United States, they did go on to have several other hits in the UK!
