The ‘World Air Guitar Championships’ Are An Actual Thing, And Yes…It’s Hilariously Ridiculous

If you’re a human being and have arms and fingers, there’s no doubt you’ve busted out an air guitar at some point. We can guarantee every classic rock fan has gotten carried away and “shredded” an amazing solo on their air guitar. No matter who you are, you can master the air guitar easily. But some have mastered it so well that they’ve actually invented a competition to find the greatest air guitar player in the world.

That’s right, every year some of the best air guitar players gather to showcase their skills in a worldwide showcase that’s almost like the olympics! One player represents each country, and this year, the United States’ Matt “Aristotle” Burns took home the gold with this amazing, shredtastic metal performance of Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive” Although this is unbelievably ridiculous and over the top, it’s pretty cool to see these people go all out for a trophy!
