This song has been performed many times through out the years by different artists, and different versions. But let’s face it: Stevie Ray Vaughan freaking shreds.

No, he doesn’t just shred. He actually jams.

I mean, how could you not just bob your head up and down to this live rendition of “Superstition”? There is so much feeling in this one that it hits that spot.

Already such a groovy tune originally by Stevie Wonder, SRV just takes things to the next level…like he always does. Probably one of the greatest guitarists of all time, he and his band Double Trouble do a great job covering songs. We already know that.

This particular performance took place back in 1987 in New Orleans. Think of this like the Stevie Wonder original, but on steroids and much more blues-rockish.

+ Superstition lyrics +

Very superstitious
Writing on the wall
Very superstitious
Ladder’s ’bout to fall
Thirteen month old baby
Broke that looking glass
Seven years of bad luck
Good things in the pastWhen you believe in things that you don’t understand
Then you suffer
Superstition ain’t the wayVery superstitious
Wash your face and hands
Rid me of the problem
Get all that you can
Keep me in a daydream
Keep me going strong
You don’t want to save me
Sad is my songWhen you believe in things that you don’t understand
Then you suffer
Superstition ain’t the wayVery superstitious
Nothing more to say
Very superstitious
Devil’s on his way
Thirteen month old baby
Broke that looking glass
Seven years of bad luck
Good things in the pastWhen you believe in things that you don’t understand
You will suffer
Superstition ain’t the way
