This demo rendition of Stevie Nicks’ ‘Wild Heart’ is one of the very few occasions where I like the demo more than I like the studio version! Normally, demo recordings are at least fraternal twins of the final studio rendition of a song, but in this case, Stevie’s demo for ‘Wild Heart’ may as well be a distant cousin for how wonderfully different it sounds compared to the album version!
Fun Fact: This demo of ‘Wild Heart’ was recorded from the Bella Donna Rolling Stone photo shoot.
It’s got a folksy, almost country kind of feel to it and it sounds like Stevie as she was meant to be heard; young, wild at heart, and wonderfully imperfect. Somehow, while the studio version is the one that made the cut, this rendition could have easily taken its place!
