Steven Steals the Show!

It’s always a daunting task to pay tribute to your hero, especially when that hero is an icon. In 2010, Steven Tyler paid tribute to his longtime friend and idol Paul McCartney with the ‘Abbey Road’ Medley. The result was absolutely fantastic and had Sir Paul McCartney dancing in his seat!

Steven Tyler is an expert at showmanship and commanding a stage. However, this rendition of the ‘Abbey Road’ Medley made famous by The Beatles reminded us how talented Steven really is!

“I’ve never been prouder to be standing here, on the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and Abbey Road,” said Steven before launching into the medley.

I love the way he paid homage to rock and roll’s British and American heritage!

Steven really took control of the ‘Abbey Road’ Medley and made it his own without betraying the legacy of Paul McCartney and The Beatles.

With his heart 100% invested in his performance, Steven Tyler made sure that his rendition of the ‘Abbey Road’ Medley made history and was the performance of his life!

+ Abbey Road Medley lyrics +

You Never Give Me Your Money
You only give me your paper
And in the middle of negotiations you break down
I never give you my number
I only give my situation
And in the middle of investigation I break down

Out of college, money spent
See no future, pay no rent
All the money’s gone, nowhere to go
Any jobber got the sack
Monday morning, turning back
Yellow lorry slow, nowhere to go
But, oh, that magic feeling
Nowhere to go
Oh, that magic feeling
Nowhere to go

One sweet dream
Pick up the bags and get in the limousine
Soon we’ll be away from here
Step on the gas and wipe that tear away
One sweet dream came true today
Came true today
Yes it did (na, na)

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven
All good children go to heaven
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven
All good children go to heaven
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven
All good children go to heaven
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven
All good children go to heaven
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven
All good children go to heaven
