In this American Idol episode, Steven Tyler shares the stage with Jax. Steven performed his latest single “Love Is Your Name.” It was written by Eric Paslay and Lindsey Lee and it’s the lead single for his upcoming debut solo album which will be released later this year. Though more popularly known for his immortal rock songs, Steven ventures into something new and different — country music.

The song is also described as “harmony-rich” and “[not] quite like anything else on country radio at the moment”. Tyler himself describes it as being “a little bit between Steven Tyler and Mumford & Sons and the Everly Brothers.”
However, Steven’s passion for country songs has deep roots since he grew up listening to Patsy Cline, Dan Hicks and The Everly Brothers just to name a few. This particular track starts off with the use of an instrument which is rarely used in this specific genre nowadays — an autoharp. There are also banjos and fiddles featured in the song.
