SRV’s Awesome Studio Version Of “Taxman”

SRV’s Awesome Studio Version Of “Taxman” | Society Of Rock Videos

“Taxman” was originally sung by The Beatles for their album, “Revolver.” It was released on August 5, 1966 and was said to be in protest against the progressive tax in Britain.

During one interview by Playboy magazine released in 1984, Paul McCartney was asked about the song. He said: “George wrote that and I played guitar on it. He wrote it in anger at finding out what the taxman did. He had never known before then what he’ll do with your money.”

It was then recorded by several other artists including this particular version by Stevie Ray Vaughan. Other covers are from The Music Machine, Bill Wyman, Nickel Creek, and Saga.
