Is It AC/BG, Or BG/DC?

Late last year, mashup producer Wax Audio raised eyebrows and made headlines when he created a hybrid featuring The Beatles’ 1964 classic “A Hard Day’s Night” with LA rockers Mötley Crüe’s 1987 rager “Girls, Girls, Girls” and now he’s back – this time, combining two of Australia’s favorite artists with an…interesting, shall we say, mashup of AC/DC’s “Back In Black” and The Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive” and guys, trust us when we say you need to give this a spin.

Featuring vocals from “Stayin’ Alive” set to the music of “Back In Black,” the project – known as “Stayin’ In Black” – comes with a pretty neat fanmade video that combines footage from the music video for “Stayin’ Alive” cut with live footage of AC/DC during the seventies for one great big celebration of two of the finest acts to emerge from Australia’s music scene.

While the combination might seem a little strange to some, it actually works. The steady, driving rhythm of “Back In Black” supports the very matter of fact feel of “Stayin’ Alive” and when put together, the result is a hard rockin’ tune that makes you want to get up and dance. Don’t believe us? Give it a spin and see for yourselves!
