We knew that President-elect Donald Trump, having enjoyed lengthy friendships with their respective frontmen Dee Snider and Gene Simmons – but according to Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi, Trump likes his music a little heavier and judging by the fact that he brought one of his daughters to a Sabbath show a few years back, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
Iommi reveals that the President-elect is a fan of Black Sabbath and actually wanted to meet the band after the show he brought one of his daughters to; unfortunately, a strict flight itinerary prevented Ozzy, Tony, and Geezer from meeting the father and daughter pair:
“We have a lot of people come to our show you wouldn’t think. Donald Trump came a few years ago. We were leaving because we had to get the flight. He came backstage with his daughter but we couldn’t stay to talk to him, we couldn’t miss the slot for our plane.
It was a bit ‘hello, hello’ and gone.”
Something tells us that after January 20th, Donald and his family might get their shot at hanging out backstage with the godfathers of heavy metal. That being said…we wonder what’s on the future president’s Spotify playlists?
