While ‘Love Of My Life’ by Santana and guest artist Dave Matthews wasn’t a single from 1999’s Supernatural it’s still one of our favorites. It’s an elegant throwback to early Santana, and Dave Matthews was a fantastic choice to perform vocals – I don’t think anyone else could have provided such a great counterbalance to Santana’s signature Latin rock guitars on all of his tracks, and it makes us wish they’d done more projects together! Of all the amazing songs featured on Supernatural, we definitely think that ‘Love Of My Life’ is the album’s best kept secret!

Santana’s Supernatural (1999) was an international hit, going 15x platinum with over 26 million copies sold worldwide, securing its spot in music history as the best selling album by a Hispanic artist. It was also the band’s first album to peak at number 1 on the Billboard 200 since Santana in 1971, making it the longest gap between two number 1 albums, 28 years in total.

Our favorite part of ‘Love Of My Life’ is the sudden salsa break at 3:18, and as an added treat we also get to see a gorgeous young couple salsa dancing around Santana and Dave. This song was made for dancing with someone you’re crazy about!
