That’s Sir Rod Stewart To You!

After half a century of entertaining people across the world, rock legend Rod Stewart has another accomplishment to tack onto his already impressive résumé: knight. That’s right -on October 16, 2016 Rod Stewart formally became known as Sir Roderick David Stewart, CBE after he was officially knighted by Prince William, Duke of Cambridge at Buckingham Palace.

Honored for his musical and charitable contributions over the years, Sir Rod graciously accepted the honor while in the presence of his wife, Penny Lancaster and two youngest children Alistair and Aiden, who according to their mum were so proud that after the ceremony they “were hanging onto him for dear life”.

The Stewarts got to meet the Queen afterwards, but don’t worry – Rod shed his plaid pants and military jacket for a slick, subdued black suit and described his big moment as a “monumental honor”. Congratulations, Sir Rod!
