RARE, Personal Footage of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Bus On Tour & Infamous “Call Me The Breeze” Performance | Society Of Rock Videos

Just You and The Band

Watch the most down to earth display of fan appreciation in this rare, uncovered video of the band on tour in the 70’s. As the band’s bus experiences some difficulties throughout the journey, Lynyrd Skynyrd’s drummer, Artimus Pyle, listens to the praises of a random street fan.

You could not feel closer to these humble men watching this short, intimate film, they will make you feel as if you were really there, which is what we all want, right?

Feelin’ the Breeze

Most fans may not know that Lynyrd Skynyrd was not the actual owner of this song. Believe it or not, an Oklahoman guitar player by the name of J.J. Cale is responsible for the birth of this song, however, he did not keep it for himself. Clapton and Skynyrd were just some of the capable artists to adopt this awesome, easy- going tune and put their own spins on it.

Oh man, “Call Me the Breeze” takes us back, doesn’t it? Watching Robert and his buddies perform live at Freedom Hall in ’76 makes us miss the good old days.

“Call me the breeze. I keep blowin’ down the road. Well now, they call me the breeze. I keep blowin’ down the road.”

It’s just one of those feel- good songs that you play traveling down a country road, feeling the fresh air in your face and soaking up the sunshine.

+ Call Me the Breeze Lyrics +

Call me the breeze
I keep blowin’ down the road
Well now they call me the breeze
I keep blowin’ down the road
I ain’t got me nobody
I don’t carry me no load

Ain’t no change in the weather
Ain’t no changes in me
Well there ain’t no change in the weather
Ain’t no changes in me
And I ain’t hidin’ from nobody
Nobody’s hidin’ from me
Oh, that’s the way its supposed to be

Well I got that green light baby
I got to keep movin’ on
Well I got that green light baby
I got to keep movin’ on
Well I might go out to California
Might go down to Georgia
I don’t know

Well I dig you Georgia peaches
Makes me feel right at home
Well now I dig you Georgia peaches
Makes me feel right at home
But I don’t love me no one woman
So I can’t stay in Georgia long

Well now they call me the breeze
I keep blowin’ down the road
Well now they call me the breeze
I keep blowin’ down the road
I ain’t got me nobody
I don’t carry me no load
Oooh Mr Breeze
