“Seen The Lights Go Out On Broadway….”

In 1976, Billy Joel released his hit studio album Turnstiles. The album included a song that predicted the apocalypse and downfall of New York titled “Miami 2017 (Seen The Lights Go Out On Broadway),” which became a staple at Billy’s live shows.

This week, Jimmy Kimmel returned to Brooklyn and brought his show with him. He does this once a year, and always gets New York-based guests to come on the program. This year, Jimmy got Billy Joel on the show, to perform the epic “Miami 2017” in front of his home state crowd. This song has so many moments that are just epic! From the slow start, to the build up, to the moment where the song jumps off into a driving rock tune, this song is one of Billy’s best. It sounds even better in front of a New York crowd that truly appreciates and embraces him!
