“She Got A TV Eye On Me…”

Neil Young, Lady Gaga, and now punk icon Iggy Pop – it’s pretty safe to say that Grammy Awards snafu aside, Metallica’s having a pretty fantastic year so far. The Bay Area rockers just finished up a three night run of shows at Mexico City’s Foro Sol Arena where they incorporated some brand new elements into their live show, upping the ante and giving fans a little something extra to look forward to when they embark on their 25-date North American Worldwired Tour this summer. As explosive as any fan could hope for, Metallica wrapped up their time in Mexico City with one last show Saturday night, bringing punk legend Iggy Pop onstage to thrash through The Stooges’ Fun House classic “TV Eye” with them.

James Hetfield welcomed the icon by saying, “Metallica has much respect for the man coming out here to sing a song with us. We’re grateful that he’s been able to be on this Mexico City tour with us. Please, show your sign of respect and love to Mr. Iggy Pop! Please come out here dude.”

Clearly, the crowd loved the sight of Metallica sharing a stage with Iggy Pop; immediately after the performance wrapped social media exploded with photos and video of the magic moment, fans absolutely gobsmacked at receiving the musical collaboration they never knew they needed. Speaking of collaborations, this performance of “TV Eye” is so killer that we’d be lying if we said we weren’t absolutely dying for a proper Metallica/Iggy Pop collaboration in the near future – come on boys, don’t let us down!
