Frying pans, shotguns, Harley parts, flamethrowers – y’all, people are getting so awesomely creative with the way they make their guitars that I don’t even want to bother with Fender Stratocasters or Les Pauls anymore! Just months after his shotgun guitar (and excellent marksmanship) went viral, Rev. Peyton of Rev. Peyton’s Big Damn Band is back with the Axe Guitar, a 3-string guitar crafted from your regular, run of the mill wood choppin’ axe; the result of another killer collaboration between Peyton and Fleming Pickups, the Axe Guitar slices through gritty Southern rock as easily as it slices through the two logs in front of Rev. Peyton and his drummer, Sad Max Senteney.

Fun Fact: The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band plays around 250 dates per year.

Seen jamming away in the woods, Rev. Peyton demonstrates both the insane musical capabilities of the Axe Guitar and its practical charm while drummer Sad Max keeps time with two drumsticks and an old tree stump and y’all, this smooth little slide tune is enough to make us want to head to Home Depot, slap on a set of strings, and get to jamming away when we’re out working in the backyard this summer. Check it out in the video below and as always, enjoy!
