Led Zeppelin – Rock And Roll Live 1973
Led Zeppelin Knows How To Rock And Roll
Rock and Roll is a song by Led Zeppelin, which was first released in 1971 as part of the band’s fourth album (it was the second song). The song has a guest appearance of Ian Stewart, The Rolling Stones’ pianist. Jimmy Page, the band’s guitarist, said the song was written as a spontaneous jam session.
It was done while the band was trying in vain to finish a track known as ‘Four Sticks’. Robert Plant, the band’s vocalist, normally interchanged the second verse and third verse when they were performing the song live.
In The Media
Rock and Roll was the first Led Zeppelin song in 2001 to be licensed for a television series. It appeared in Season 3, Episode ‘Fortunate Son’ of The Sopranos. The following year, it became one of the first few classic rock songs to be used under license in television ads. This was by General Motors as they launched their Cadillac line of vehicles.
+ Rock And Roll Lyrics Below +
It’s been a long time since I rock and rolled,
It’s been a long time since I did the Stroll.
Ooh, let me get it back, let me get it back,
Let me get it back, baby, where I come from.
It’s been a long time, been a long time,
Been a long lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely time. Yes it has.
It’s been a long time since the book of love,
I can’t count the tears of a life with no love.
Carry me back, carry me back,
Carry me back, baby, where I come from.
It’s been a long time, been a long time,
Been a long lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely time.
Seems so long since we walked in the moonlight,
Making vows that just can’t work right.
Open your arms, opens your arms,
Open your arms, baby, let my love come running in.
It’s been a long time, been a long time,
Been a long lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely time.
