At this time last year, it was officially announced that Ronnie James Dio would be resurrected on stage in hologram form and the whole thing would embark on a world tour. Despite the tour not even starting yet, the whole thing has been getting great reviews and a whole lot of press.

Now, it’s being reported that the next late rock legend that will be resurrected in hologram form will be none other than Frank Zappa!

The news was broke by Frank’s son Ahmet Zappa. He had this to say in a press release. “I’m thrilled that Frank Zappa will finally be going back out on tour playing his most well-known music as well as some rare and unheard material.”

Ahmet also revealed the involvement of several others such as Adrian Belew, Steve Vai, Mike Keneally, Vinnie Colaiuta and Warren Cuccurullo just to name a few. He had this to say about the ensemble. “When I spoke with them. They were excited at the prospect of performing alongside Frank once again and can’t wait to give fans an unforgettable experience.”

“How radical would it be to have Moon singing ‘ValleyGirl‘ onstage with Frank? Or to see Dweezil side by side with our father playing dueling guitar solos? That would be my greatest wish, and I look forward to bringing this special celebration of Frank’s legacy to a town near you.”

As of right now, there are no confirmed tour dates, but chances are that this tour will commence sometime after the RJD hologram tour so that the two do not clash.
