A few months back, Kendall and Kylie Jenner found themselves in hot water after they were caught defacing classic rock band t-shirts, and selling them over their website. The Jenners would superimpose their faces over historic album covers, band photos and names, and would sell the shirts for $120! A lot of rock fans were angered over this, and many of the bands filed suit.
Now, another pop star has found himself in a similar situation. Justin Bieber and Marilyn Manson have found themselves in a conflict, after Manson spotted Bieber wearing a t-shirt with his face on it during a concert. No big deal, right? Well, the only issue is the back of the shirt, which reads “Justin Bieber” and was worn all throughout his Purpose World Tour. The two had an encounter and exchanged words. Manson claims Bieber’s words were harsh, as he claimed credit for putting Manson back on the map.
“I saw a little girl in a pink hoodie with blond hair, and it turns out to be Bieber. I sit down, and I say, ‘Hey, so you wore my shirt and everything onstage.’ He was one of those touchy people that hit you when they talk, and he comes up to about d–k height. Then he goes, ‘I made you relevant again.‘“- Manson claimed.
Ouch. That’s definitely not something you say to someone who’s been around longer than you, especially a guy like Marilyn Manson. Manson had the last laugh, because although the company that produced the shirt had Manson’s consent, Bieber’s party violated some terms of the agreement. When Manson’s party asked for a cut, Bieber’s party knew they were in the wrong and didn’t put up any fight.
“They didn’t even fight, they were just like, ‘yea, we already know, we did wrong, so here’s the money.“- Manson said.
Here’s hoping this all blows over….
