John Mayer Pays Tribute to Hero Stevie Ray Vaughan!
It’s one thing for your hero to want you to work with them. It’s another thing entirely when his former band respects your craft enough to invite you to perform with them in his honor at Austin City Limits! John Mayer got the opportunity of a lifetime from the late Stevie Ray Vaughan’s former bandmates Tommy Shannon and Chris Layton to join them at Austin City Limits, performing Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble’s classic hit ‘Empty Arms’. What a fitting tribute to the man who influenced John Mayer as a guitar player, to perform at the same festival that Stevie Ray Vaughan dominated for years before his death in 1990.
John Mayer has had nothing but wonderful things to say about his idol, Stevie Ray Vaughan:

On April 18, 2015, John Mayer will be joining Chris Layton, Tommy Shannon, and Stevie’s big brother Jimmie Vaughan in honoring Stevie’s legacy at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony. We can’t wait to see it, we know Stevie would be incredibly proud to know that his passion influenced such a great musician!
