Gonna Be Big!

“Hear My Train A Comin'” was written and recorded by Jimi Hendrix and was released on August 1973 under Reprise Records. This blues-inspired track was recorded several times — live and in the studio and often with impromptu settings but was never finished according to how Jimi wanted it to sound exactly.

It has been called “a powerful blues prayer based on the salvation-train metaphor” of American folklore by biographer John McDermott.

When Jimi performed this during concerts and live shows, he would use a blues rock arrangement and then add accompaniment. It eventually evolved into an extended improvisational guitar piece which became a staple in his repertoire.

Hendrix biographer Harry Shapiro describes “Hear My Train A Comin'” as “delv[ing] deep into the well of blues history, recalling one of the classic motifs of the genre.”

In this particular video, you can clearly see the legendary Jimi Hendrix and his flawless guitar work!
