Jim Croce – “Time In A Bottle” (Michael Lucarelli Guitar Cover)
This Will Make You Feel Nostalgic!
“Time in a Bottle” was released on November 1973 for Jim Croce’s third studio album “You Don’t Mess Around with Jim.” He wrote this on the night when his wife, Ingrid, told him she was pregnant after five years of marriage. It was his final number 1 hit after his death.
ABC originally did not intend to release the song as a single; but when Croce was killed in a plane crash in September 1973, the song’s lyrics, dealing with mortality and the wish to have more time, had additional resonance.
It was certified gold by the RIAA and peaked at number on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, U.S. Billboard Easy Listening, U.S. Cash Box Top 100 and Canadian RPM Top Singles.
The arrangement features a harpsichord that producer Tommy West discovered had been left in the mixing studio.
Michael Lucarelli does a splendid job of covering the song. It’s soothing, peaceful and beautifully played. Everything about this video is compelling and magical — from his emotional rendition to the magnificent scenery. This will leave you breathless!
