“Get it While You Can”, is the last track on Joplin’s second studio album, Pearl. From the very first note, I immediately get chills, I’m immediately captivated by a contagiously passionate woman.

This song is about not letting the opportunity for love and comfort pass you by, because life’s just too short. Isn’t that just about the foundation of Joplin’s philosophy?

It was the last album Joplin recorded with the Full Tilt Boogie Band, her final touring mates. It reached number one on the Billboard 200. It has since been certified quadruple platinum, (WOW) and rightfully so!

“My whole purpose is to communicate. What I sing is my own reality. But just the fact that people come up to me and say, ‘Hey, that’s my reality too,’ proves to me that it’s not just mine.”
