Bayou Soul Singer Breathes New Life Into Van Morrison Classic

It’s been a long time since we’ve been this excited about a singer, but Louisiana’s Marc Broussard has been on our radar for the past few weeks and for good reason: the guy can sing. We first heard him tear it up on an album comprised solely of 60s soul covers (if you haven’t heard his version of Otis Redding’s “These Arms Of Mine” then run, don’t walk, to YouTube and check it out) but he’s got a soft spot for classic rock too as evidenced by this acoustic cover of Van Morrison’s “Into The Mystic” and y’all, if you thought he sang the hell out of 60s soul covers then you’re absolutely not ready for what Marc does with this Van Morrison classic!

Filmed at his home in Carencro, Louisiana, Marc kicks back with his acoustic guitar as part of his “Home in Carencro with Marc Broussard” video series and opens the throttle for “Into The Mystic,” giving the 1970 Van Morrison song a little of that old bayou soul charm to craft something that grasps at your soul and refuses to let go. We already loved Marc and we were even bigger fans of “Into The Mystic” but after hearing these two together, it’s safe to say that we’ve found a match made in cover heaven. Enjoy!
